Go Veg

Here you will find vegetarian resources along with book suggestions. I have been a vegetarian for a little over three years. I used to suffer from anorexia nervosa and then later irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), which I believe was once of the outcomes of my anorexia. I have been healthy now for several years, but it was only when I stopped eating meat that my stomach problems truly went away and I became free. I encourage you to educate yourself on the meat industry in the United States (specifically animal treatment) along with many of the other health benefits to becoming vegetarian. Below are suggested books and websites to help your on your journey!

Slaughterhouse: The Shocking Story of Greed, Neglect, and Inhumane Treatment Inside the U.S. Meat Industry by Gail A. Eisnitz

Meat Market: Animal, Ethics, and Money by Erik Marcus

Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer

The Ethics of What We Eat: Why Our Food Choices Matter by Peter Singer

For the wee ones:

That’s Why We Don’t Eat Animals: A Book About Vegans, Vegetarians, and All Living Things by Ruby Roth
